Sorry I’ve been slacking off these days and haven’t put much effort in blogging…

But I haven’t forgotten about the “Paris, je t’aime” series that I was trying to complete. There’s still so much more that I wanna show here.

It seems that the more I blog about my trip to Paris, the more I fall in love with Paris and everything about it.

I finally found this set of stamps by Cavallini in Yaletown today. I’ve been looking for it everywhere in Vancouver and wasn’t having any luck till today. So happy that I got it! This could temporarily fulfill my longing for Paris before I revisit it again.

【Paris, je t’aime】19. Amélie

It was our last day in Paris. Our first destination in the early morning was the Tabac des Deux Moulins in Montmartre. Ok, let me put it this way, we visited the café in the film Amélie.

I was so excited, because Amélie has been my all-time favourite. It looked a bit different from the setting in the film, but it was still so surreal for me to be able to sit at one of the tables and sip some coffee. Looking at the people around me, it seemed that the locals still came to this place, drinking their coffee and reading their newspapers as usual. You know how sometimes fame would ruin a lovely, unique place to the locals when it becomes too touristy. But I don’t see that here. Perhaps the fame has been overrated.

The Louvre is so big that we couldn’t visit every single corner in it. I’ve heard once that it takes a minimum of 4 days to see everything in the Louvre. Obviously we had too little time to do that. Browsing was just not enough.

At the end of the day, we were exhausted. But only physically, not mentally. We could just stare at the magnificent pyramid and forget about the time.

From the inside of the pyramid at The Louvre, we saw interesting geometry of lines and shapes. We had a several wow moments there…

Centre Pompidou houses one of the largest modern museums in the world – Musée National d’Art Moderne. We didn’t have time to visit the museum because we devoted all our third day to the Louvre. We did take some time to walk around the square outside the museum. It was lively and colourful.
