Back to Blvd. St. Germain, we continued our third adventure in this area. Around the block at rue de Seine and Blvd. St. Germain, there are several so-called “intellectual” cafés: Les Deux Magots, Café de Flore, and Brasserie Lipp. They were all packed with tourists and locals, so we decided to pass on them.

We looped around the blocks between rue de Seine, rue Mabillon, and rue Princesse. There are many small, fine shops around this area. We visited an English-language bookstore on rue Princesse, just to browse through something we could understand. Oh, and there is definitely an incidence I need to mention. When I just took a right turn onto rue Lobineau, I heard a familiar voice. I immediately recognized that the voice was Hilary Swank’s, and it was her! She just walked past me!  I was too surprised to say a word, and just stood at the corner, watching her cross the street with her friend and disappear into another street…what a bizarre moment for me.

Crowds started to show up when we went closer to Blvd. Raspail. There are more shops along Rue de Sévres, which leads to the famous department store in Left Bank, Le Bon Marché. We went into the department store and straight to the top floor for a nice coffee. Through the window, we could overlook the streets and magnificent buildings nearby, and a French flag waving at us in the distance.
